For a while in the 1980s, my friends and I were totally addicted to Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire series. Vampires are obviously (still? again?) amazingly popular, so it makes sense that Yen Press is producing a graphic novel of the story that began Rice’s epic.
Ashley Marie Whitter did the art and adaptation for Yen, and tells the story from Claudia’s point of view instead of Lestat’s–a cool way to give a fresh twist to a story we might not otherwise bother to reread. In an interview with MTV Geek, Rice says she gave feedback throughout the creation process and thinks the graphic novel is faithful to original novel. Interview with the Vampire: Claudia’s Story is due out tomorrow, November 20.
